Things to do in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, of course, is most famous for its strip. Spanning about 4 miles, it has an endless selection of casinos, exotic clubs, and hotels. There are also comedy clubs, fine dining restaurants, and performance venues here too. However, that is not the only attraction in Vegas. Given that the population is a little under 700,000, there is no shortage of activities in the city. From Indoor Skydiving to ATV rentals to numerous indoor shooting spots, Las Vegas has an expansive list of things to do. If you are into exotic car racing, that is here, too. Horseback riding or hiking the trails of Red Rock Canyon are things to enjoy here as well. Kayaking along the Colorado River and golfing are activities folks enjoy year-round.
Things to see in Las Vegas
The Strip is the most popular destination. It has The Adventuredome at Circus Circus, which is America’s largest indoor theme park. It has an aquarium, classical car showrooms, the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, and countless other museums throughout the city. It also has a botanical garden and an exotic bird garden, filled with flamingos and other exotic birds. Downtown has the Discovery Children’s Museum, the Mob Museum, Main Street Station Antiques, and the evening centered Fremont Street Experience.
Las Vegas Weather
The weather is mostly a dry, desert heat. Although for the majority of the year it is not too cold at night, it does hit lows of 35 degrees F, slightly above freezing. Nightly lows in the summer are in the warm 75 degrees F range. The summers do tend to get very hot, with summer July averages of around 104 degrees. However, there are some days where it gets to almost 115 degrees F. Albeit it is quite hot in the summer, there is no shortage of indoor activities for travelers and residents alike.
Las Vegas Cost of living and business
Amazingly, the median home price in Vegas is a quite affordable $290,000. Making it ideal for people who would want a low mortgage to make way for the many activities Las Vegas has to offer. Las Vegas has great business opportunities. It is a popular destination for startups in consulting and administrative business. Tech-related businesses are common here as well. Keep in mind that if you are in the hospitality industry, there will be quite a bit of market competition here.
Dining in Las Vegas
Given that it is a popular tourist spot, there is no shortage of dining options here. There are buffets, Mexican cuisine, and sushi. Most of the restaurants are along the strip and have different variations of meat dishes. Steak and filet mignon are the most common dishes in Vegas, with many different steakhouses to choose from. There are also Chinese, Mediterranean Italian, and tropical food here as well.
Without a doubt, Las Vegas has countless avenues of entertainment. In or just outside of Las Vegas are perfect spots for a home. With its many amenities, the affordable housing market, and no freezing weather, makes it a perfect permanent vacation getaway.
Outlying suburbs offer time in the outdoors, a handful of good schools, jobs, and more safety compared to some parts of Las Vegas closer to downtown.
